AMD True Mobile True Performance Drawing OFFICIAL RULES

1. Introduction
The AMD True Mobile True Performance Drawing (the “Drawing”) begins on August 19, 2002, and ends September 30, 2002 (the “Promotion Period”). During the Promotion Period, a quiz consisting of ten (10) multiple-choice questions will be posted on the AMD Retail Professionals website (www.amd.com/retailpro). All eligible participants who correctly answer at least eight (8) of the ten (10) questions correctly, will be automatically entered into the Drawing to win prizes at the end of the promotion.
2. Eligibility
The Drawing is open to employees of retail stores who sell computers and/or computer hardware, software, or peripherals; or are employed as PC service technicians (“retail sales associates”). Participants must be employed by the retail store at the time of prize notification in order to be eligible to receive prizes. Participants must meet eligibility requirements for Retail Pro membership. Participants must be 18 years of age or older by August 19, 2002 and have Internet access prior to August 19, 2002 to be eligible to win. This Drawing is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. Employees of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (“AMD”), and their subsidiaries, affiliates, and agents, and the immediate family (defined as parents, children, siblings and husband or wife) of each such employee, together with those with whom such employees are domiciled are not eligible. An eligible participant may register only once. Participants may be required to submit proof of their eligibility under employer rules or guidelines.
3. How to Play
To enter:
a. Log on or register on the RetailPro website at www.amd.com/retailpro
b. Review the presentation regarding the mobile AMD Athlon™ processor and AMD processor-based notebooks, then click the “Take the Quiz” link and take the quiz. When you have completed the quiz, a message will appear with your score. If you score 80% or better (correctly answering at least eight (8) out of ten (10) questions), you will be automatically entered into the Drawing. The Retail Professional site will contain all of the information necessary to answer the quiz questions.
LIMIT: Only one entry per person, and one Prize per household. Multiple entries by the same person will result in disqualification. AMD is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, illegible or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified; for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions; for technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to electronic malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software; or for any error, human, technical or otherwise.
4. Prizes
Winners will receive one of the following three (3) Grand Prizes: One (1): HP Pavillion ze1200 series notebook with an AMD processor. Approximate retail value ("ARV"): $1799.99; One (1): Compaq Presario 900 series notebook with an AMD processor. ARV: $1649.00; or One (1): Sony VAIO FXA series notebook with an AMD processor. ARV: $1399.99
Prizes are nontransferable and may not be substituted for cash or otherwise, except by AMD, which reserves the right to substitute different prizes of equal or greater value. All applicable local, state, and federal taxes and any customs charges or tariffs on prizes are the sole responsibility of and must be paid by the winners.
5. Winning and Notification
Sponsor will select potential winners in a random drawing from among all eligible entries on or about October 1, 2002. AMD will attempt to notify potential winners by reasonable means, using the contact information provided in the Retail Professional registration profile. Winners may waive their right to receive a prize. If for any reason a potential winner cannot be reached after a reasonable attempt has been made or waives or otherwise forfeits his or her prize, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner, selected by random drawing from among remaining eligible entries. All winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, liability and publicity release as a condition of receipt of a prize, except where prohibited by law. Failure to return a signed affidavit/release within fourteen (14) days of mailing/faxing will result in forfeiture of the prize, except where prohibited by law. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by AMD. AMD reserves the right to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the operation of the Drawing or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules.
Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received.
6. Entry Period
The Drawing Period begins on August 19, 2002 at 12:01 A.M. CDT and ends on September 30, 2002 at 11:59 P.M. CDT. Entries and quiz answers received outside of the specified time periods will not be considered.
7. General Conditions
Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Drawing constitutes the winner’s consent to AMD’s use of the winner’s name, city, state, province or county, and country, likeness, photograph, statements made by the winner about the Drawing, AMD, and/or prize information for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration and to receipt of information and updates from AMD.
By receipt of any prize, the winner agrees to release and hold harmless AMD, their related companies, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Drawing or receipt or use of the prize. AMD will not replace any lost or stolen prizes. AMD reserves the right to cancel or modify the Drawing if fraud or other factors beyond AMD’s control impair the integrity of the Drawing, as determined by AMD in its sole discretion. All entries become the property of AMD, and none will be returned. AMD is not responsible for any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from downloading any material from AMD’s website, regardless of whether the material was prepared by AMD or a third party, and regardless of whether the material is connected to the AMD’s website by a hypertext link. AMD reserves the right to cancel or modify the Drawing if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond AMD’s reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Drawing as determined by AMD in its sole discretion. In such event, AMD reserves the right to award the prizes at random from the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. All federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply.
8. Miscellaneous
Entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Drawing, or any prizes awarded, other than the administration of the Drawing or the determination of winners shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Courts for the Northern District of California (San Jose Division) or the appropriate California State Court located in Santa Clara County, California; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Drawing but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of you and AMD in connection with the Drawing, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules of provisions (whether of the State of California, or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California.

A copy of these Official Rules and the winners list, once available, will be posted on the on the Internet at www.amd.com/retailpro until December 1, 2002.
